26 Nov happened to be the birthday of Monishka Gupta who started her film carreer with Hindi Film Hanste Hanste. It was the day Mumbai was rocked with blasts and gunfire by Pakistani terrosits.Monishka had planned to visit some temples which she did visit. Evening was planned to be celebrated at some five star hotel but as she felt sick she cancelled the programmes and decided to celebrate her birthday at her residence. And she was shocked to see on the TV the unfolding terror in the city. Even the home function was cancelled and for next three days she prayed to God not to repeat such traumatic incidents. She says that she cant forget her this birth day.

Monishka belongs to Lucknow and has good height and attractive personality. She used to participate in school and college dramas and was also selected as Miss UP. She did not get any formal training in acting and says it is a god gifted skill. She did however was trained formally in folk dances. She later came to Bollywood.

After coming to Mumbai she did ramp shows and cat walks, ad films, and the feature film Hanste Hanste. She was paired with Sher Gil in the film. Unfortunately the film bombed and whole unit suffered including her.

Now she is very careful in selecting new films. She thinks her launch was ill timed and and was with a bad film. She also wants to do films with big producers like Subhash Ghai, David Dhavan, Abbas Mastan etc. She wants it to be some lead role and does not care whether the role is positive or negative. She also desires to paired with Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Shahrukh Khan etc.

Her portfolio shows she also is bindaas and willing to be exposed within the limits imposed by censors and as demanded by the story.
