Film Festival 

Pankaj Shukla directed films at NRI Film Festival 2010.

Two films of Journalist turned film maker Pankaj Shukla have been selected for screening during Pravasi Film Festival (NRI Film Festival), India 2010. The films namely Azizan Mastaani and Bahurupiya have been presented by Kushaagra Creations, and its producer Sharad Mishra have also conceptualized these two. Besides Pankaj, Mira Nair and Director Duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D K also have the honor of getting their two films each selected for the festival.

Other films that have been selected for screening in this 1st NRI Festival, India are Monsoon Wedding and The Namesake by Mira Nair, Waterborne by Ben Rekhi, New York by Kabir Khan, Cooking with Stella by Dilip Mehta, President Is Coming by Kunal Roy Kapoor, Train To Pakistan by Pamela Rooks, Flying Sikhs by Navdeep Kandola, 99 and Flavours by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D K, Bhavishya by Dr. Nikhil Kaushik, Extrospection by Manan Singh Katohora and Bismillah Of Benares by Nasreen Munni Kabir.

This NRI film festival will take place from Jan 3 to Jan 6, 2010 at Indian Habitat Centre in New Delhi. President of Mauritius Mr. Aniroodh Jagannath will inaugurate the awards for the same on December 1 at Hotel Samrat, New Delhi.

Pankaj expressed great pleasure on the selection of his films in the festival and told people coming from all over the world in this festival in general and people of Indian Origin in particular will have a chance to know the great past and grand culture of their mother nation through these films. He told that while his film Azizan Mastaani is a window to painful struggle but utmost dedication to the nation of a relatively unknown freedom fighter Azizan Bai, his other film Bahurupiya is a showcase to the endangered folk art of India.
