Western India Princess : Fashion for a Change
Atharva Group of Institutes of Mumbai is making efforts to organize a first ever inter-state, inter-collegiate Beauty Pageant known as the WESTERN INDIA PRINCESS - Fashion for a Change, covering the Western regions of India i.e. the states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Goa for young girls to showcase their talent and give them enormous opportunity to compete with the students of mega cities. The auditions of the pageant would take place in Ahmadabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Goa between 6th to 11th of February followed by its Semi-final round in Mumbai at the World Class Auditorium of Atharva on 16th and 17th Feb.
The selected contestants would then be groomed at the Best Western Blue Ocean Resorts & Spa at Ganpatipule, Ratnagiri the Hawaii of the west. The Grand Finale is scheduled to be held at Bhavans Ground, Andheri (West), on Sunday, 7th March 2010. There would be renowned celebrities, bureaucrats and industrialists who would attend the function.
Here again, they are taking up the social cause Right to Education for children in the interiors of Maharashtra. Atharva believes in Social Entrepreneurship. Doing activities that will benefit our students as well as the society has been our prime focus. A students team from Atharva has already made a survey of the districts of SATARA, AMRAVATI, AKOLA & KONKAN regions in the interiors of Maharashtra and have identified a few areas that we can focus on and bring them into the limelight in the area of their competency for their bright career. The beauty pageant is being organised for a noble cause to focus on educating the underprivileged children, especially the girl child from the remote areas of interior Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Goa.
Poised to be one of the MOST UNIQUE Beauty Pageants, supporting a dual cause, to be held for the first time in Western India, this event aims at discovering young Indian talent from across the western parts and creates a platform for them to display their personality, social and intellectual skills.
The event is being supported by Blue Ocean Resort & Spa and Ashwagandha Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. CINEMAX as Multiplex partners and RADIO MIRCHI as Radio partners. The personal training would be conducted by the assistant to SABIRA MERCHANT, Ms. Rupal Ajmera and VLCC is our Wellness partners. Shailini Mehta will be the fashion stylist.
The pageant is also supported by Sayali Bhagat, Bharti Sharma, Priyanka Shah and Cheryl Pinto and may be supported by Amisha Patel, Urmila Matondkar, and Celina Jaitley also.
